The night after Skyla returned to us, an incident occurred. Melvin snuck into Skyla's room and took a small black stone from her. As Skyla outranks everyone in the Military Faction aside from the Dictator, she will be the one to mete out his punishment.

This incident was highly unusual. Melvin's behavior can be quite erratic at times, but he rarely resorts to crimes. Skyla's presence has a different weight to it, as if she has learned how to wrest command away from others while she was gone. A level of combat prowess was demonstrated by both parties far in excess of anything that has been noted before, even accounting for the raw skill that Skyla already demonstrates. The most concerning part is that both of them seemed reasonable until the grip of madness consumed enough of the land that Merdiwen appeared out of nowhere.
