General Nalani Joss has requested a report on the continuing relationship of the unusual alchemist known as Yalin. Report as follows:

Yalin is the only child in the Taylor family in the hamlet of Cottonville. She is fourteen years old, has fair skin, often has light brown hair and brown eyes, and is often found wearing a large, custom tailored dress no matter the time of year. Her normal activities include alchemy, tending a shop, and environmental manipulation. It has been suggested by the locals that she be kept in the hamlet for two reasons: she is capable of bringing in travelers to see her usual way of changing the land, and that any larger of a city would be fundamentally disrupted by her activities.

Despite her age and family's profession, Yalin shows an unusually high proclivity for alchemy. This may be due to the special attention that Merdiwen Tirelle Diyo gives her, or it may be the fact that her hamlet prospers under the patronage of wealthy visitors looking to procure her wares.

Yalin describes herself as an Alchemist, a human, and someone who changes herself to suit the situation.

Merdiwen has stated that Yalin has three names: the name given to her by the family, the name of the "one in charge", and the name given by her creator, the goddess Karee. The other name is Yal'nawēnni Il-lyn E'shala, and translates to "Many people cut into parts and put in one body". This is consistent with her apparent changes in demeanor, physical attributes, and choice of dress.

Yalin has multiple physical appearances that seem to correspond to the name of the underlying person in charge. This goes beyond merely changing clothes and extends to eye and hair color. Neither one appears to be dye or other illusions, as the change can be witnessed if the proper stimulus is applied.

Mekele is the standard guise of Yalin. She prefers the standard long dress, long double bound hair, and tending the shop. She has particular skills with alchemy. Her demeanor is soft, happy, and spirited. She describes herself as an Alchemist and a True Human

Fauna is a guise that shifts hair to green and eyes to deep violet. If this guise is maintained long enough, flowers will bloom from her hair and she will wear a standard blue tunic with green trim. This guise also prefers to tend the shop, but spends a significant amount of time gardening and spending time in mud pits. Her demeanor is demure and insightful. Fauna describes herself as someone with a green thumb and a Lifeborn. She also claims an interest in Druidic arts and a keen eye for anything with horns.

Brianna is a guise seen with the same light brown hair and eyes, but pinned up to her head in a wild bun. She will immediately shed whatever clothes she's wearing, find a lightweight garb, boots, and leather gloves, and will attempt to train, spar, or fight the nearest "worthwhile opponent". Her demeanor is boisterous, aggressive, and lively. She describes herself as a Starseed trapped in a human body, the greatest warrior that has ever lived, a whirling dervish of fists, and also responds to the named "Strength"

Sherry is a guise that shifts hair to blonde and eyes to blood red. This guise is threatening to everyone around and will only come out in one of two circumstances: when someone nearby is being threatened, or in dire, self-imposed circumstances. Everyone around will find that their will to fight or otherwise harm anyone is reduced, and the longer that goes on or the stronger emotions of those around her, the larger and more unsettling her smile gets. Her demeanor is sweet, manic, and unnerving. Sherry describes herself as "The place where all bad things go to die". When pressed, she also describes herself as a Starborn

Lythina is a guise that shifts hair to blue and eyes to pink. This guise is reminiscent of a valkyrie, complete with large wings that lets her fly and an imposing aura of power. The guise will only come out in hopeless circumstances. The safest place in the world when Lythina is present is right next to her. Pray that you never see this guise. Her demeanor is calm. She refuses to describe herself, or speak in general.

Knowledge of each guise, specifically their name, bypasses the usual conditions upon which they emerge. This is apparently an at-will change and her day-to-day life is based on a routine of tasks and experiments.

I ran through a series of training exercises and creative tasks with Yalin to gauge her abilities. These tasks were performed five times with little variation from guise to guise with some notable exceptions. Details below.
